District 8 Director:  Heather Scott

Hi, I am Heather Scott.  I work at Georgia Southern University in the Department of Teaching and Learning.  I have the opportunity to wear many hats as I teach secondary science methods in our MAT program, a life/earth science course for elementary majors, and I also do supervision for our field placements.

I have 6 years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, and 5 years of science teaching experience at the secondary level in New Mexico.  I have 3 children, two dogs, and a wonderful husband – all of whom have contributed to my doctoral pursuit…, which is ongoing!

My favorite hobbies include reading, sewing, and anything involving field biology.  Each summer, I get to accompany a Coastal Ecology class that takes teachers to the barrier islands of Georgia and the Okefenokee Swamp.  It might be a class for some, but for me it is a dream vacation!

I look forward to serving as the District 8 Board member.  Please feel free to contact me at anytime: hscott@georgiasouthern.edu
