Vice President: Jeremy Peacock
Greetings high school teachers! I was honored to be selected as the GSTA high school teacher of the year for 2011, and I am excited to serve as your GSTA vice-president. I teach 9th-grade and AP biology and serve as the science department chair at Monroe Area High School in Walton County, Georgia. Before coming to Monroe Area four years ago, I taught two years at Southwest DeKalb High School. I graduated from UGA with a bachelors degree in environmental health science and worked for four years as an environmental scientist. I then served as a National Science Foundation graduate teaching fellow while attending graduate school. I have now earned my MEd in science education, and I am working toward my EdD in science education at UGA. My wife, who is also a science educator, and I live in Athens and have a two-year old daughter.
