District 4 Director:  Steven King
I am Steven King, your District IV Director.  I come to the board with 23 years of science teaching experience and recently completed my Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree, including conducting research in Science Inquiry in the Elementary School. As a Science Specialist with the Clarke County School District, I have a science lab for students in grades K-5 at Whit Davis Elementary School in Athens, Georgia.  At this time I am utilizing the best practices of S.T.E.M. instruction with all of my classes.  I am certified in grades PK-8, and have spent my entire career passionate about teaching science.  I enjoy spending time with my wife of 20 years and our 13 year-old son and 9 year-old daughter.  We enjoy traveling and I have participated in several international scientific research trips for educators.  When traveling, I am always finding resources that are used to bring the world into my classroom.   As author Ray Bradbury said, “The best scientist is open to experience and begins with the idea that anything is possible.  GSTA supports the possibilities of science, and I am here to help in any way that I can.

District IV is composed of Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Lincoln, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Taliaferro, Walton, and Wilkes Counties, including the city school systems of Commerce City, Jefferson City, and Social Circle City Schools.
