Supporting Excellent Science Teaching for Georgia

President: Dr. Judy Ward

Hello!  My name is Judy Ward and I have been teaching for over 25 years.  I currently teach Scientific Research at A.R.Johnson Health Science & Engineering Magnet School in Augusta, Georgia where I also serve as the school's STEM Coordinator.  I also teach online courses with Georgia Virtual School.  I received my masters and specialist degrees in Science Education from the University of Georgia and my doctorate from Georgia Southern University.  I am a National Board Certified teacher in the area of Adolescent and Young Adulthood Science.  I have been with GSTA since I first began teaching 25 years ago when I was a student of the infamous Dr. Patricia Simmons at UGA (Go Dawgs!).  She was a true advocate of not only being a member of GSTA but also being a presenter in order to share best practices and experiences with our peers.  I encourage all science teachers in Georgia to follow in Dr. Simmons' footsteps and continue to support GSTA by being a member and presenting at our conferences to inspire and invigorate all of our science teachers to go above and beyond in the classroom and to truly enjoy all that being a science teacher has to offer.
