Supporting Excellent Science Teaching for Georgia

District 4 Director:  Natasha Smith

I am extremely excited to serve as your District 4 Director. I have been an educator for 14 amazing years!  I am currently an Instructional Math Coach and STEM Coordinator at Evoline C. West Elementary School in Fairburn, Georgia.  As the STEM Coordinator, I am honored to share that we are the first State STEM Certified School in South Fulton County, Georgia.  I was a key contributor in the extensive yet rewarding five-year process it took to positively transform our school, staff and most importantly our students.  It is amazing to support teaching and learning beyond the mere transfer of knowledge. It is such a gift to see students engaged in critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and collaborative skills through STEM.

I earned a Dual Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood & Special Needs, a Masters in Instructional Technology, a STEM Endorsement, an Online Teaching Endorsement and a Reading Endorsement.  I use this knowledge and educational experiences to work hard to reach ALL students through Science, STE(A)M, ELA, Social Studies, Technology and much more!

I am passionate about student and adult learning.  I look forward to supporting educators with ensuring ALL students are exposed to & taught GSE science standards as a building block to future education.  I am excited about working to advance educator professional development that will boost our science community.
