Supporting Excellent Science Teaching for Georgia

District 7 Director: Heather Cowart

Hey ya'll!  My name is Heather Cowart, the District 7 Director.  I am currently serving in my 2nd term on the GSTA board.  Thank you for this opportunity.

Science and Science teaching are my passion. I originally received a degree in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Speech/Communication from Georgia State University. And because I loved it so much, I decided to teach it.  In 2006, that journey began. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, and Environmental Science to a wide variety of learners including SWD's and the Gifted and Talented.

I also have a deep love for learning myself and sharing that love for learning and teaching with other educators. I have had the pleasure of presenting at conferences including GSTA, NSTA, IDEAS, and various districts within our amazing state! For that reason, I also love working with the GSTA newsletter team.  Do you love learning and have an idea to share with other educators? We just might feature it in the newsletter.  Please reach out by clicking the "email me" link above or send an email to hcowart@telfairschools.org.

Happy teaching!

Heather
