My name is Donna Governor and I am the President-Elect for 2013-14. I have been teaching since 1984 and have taught all levels, K-12 with experience in both Florida and Georgia. I currently teach in Forsyth County. After teaching teaching advanced science for grades 6-8 in middle school for the last 10 years, I moved to high school in August 2013. I have also taught online graduate courses in astronomy education for teachers though Montana State and the University of Wyoming. I have graduate degrees in elementary education, curriculum and instruction and earned my PhD from the University of Georgia in science education in 2011. I am the 2007 Georgia Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Science Teaching. I have been on the GSTA Board since 2010. I live in Dahlonega, Georgia with my husband and step-children. My own children are grown and my son is a science teacher in Hall County.
