2024 GSTA Conference Field Trips

Registration

  • Teachers will have the opportunity to build and
    launch air rockets.
  • The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center opened in 2009 with one guiding mission: to honor the legacy and valor of the U.S. Army Infantryman. Its goal is to tell the story of our nation’s past with the latest in technological innovation. This is a guided tour.
  • Join Oxbow Meadows and the Columbus Audubon Society as we hike a portion of the Walt and Frank Chambers Birding Trail.  During this session, participants will learn the basics of
    birding and will be provided with binoculars and field guides to borrow during the program. 
    Participants will also learn activities they can infuse in their classroom that connect with
    standards.
  • Unleash the potential of your classroom by immersing yourself in our
    professional development workshop, "Reptilian Wonders: Integrating
    Herpetology into the Curriculum". This workshop is designed for educators
    seeking innovative ways to captivate students' interest and enhance their learning experiences through the fascinating world of reptiles.

2024 GSTA Conference Field Trips

Field trips to unique location destinations can fulfill your scientific curiosity, help you learn about career opportunities for your students, and can expose you to authentic phenomena that can connect your students' learning to the real world. Register early to be sure you don't miss out! If you would like to register multiple trips, you will need to complete the registration for separately for each trip. All trips will meet in the lobby/atrium at the bottom of the stairs 30 minutes before the field trip starts.  Tickets will be distributed and then each participant finds their own way to the venue.  Fell free to carpool!

 Friday, 9:00-11:00 am  $8
Reptilian Wonders Integrating Herpetology into the Curriculum Oxbow Meadows  Friday, 1:00 - 3:00 pm  $10

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All field trips must have a minimum of 10 participants or they will be cancelled - in this case a full refund will be issued.

  • Participants will provide their own transportation to the sites.

  • No refunds can be given unless GSTA cancels the trip.

  • Tickets can also be purchased during the conference at the GSTA store in the Exhibit Hall.
